10 years of growth

The ASSA ABLOY Group originated in the Nordic region in 1994, with the spin off of Assa AB from the Swedish security company Securitas and the acquisition shortly thereafter of the Finnish lock company Abloy. Since then the Group has expanded by a combination of organic growth and further acquisitions.

One of ASSA ABLOY's most important acquisitions, during the history of ASSA ABLOY, was the acquisition of Intruder Security Group in 2000, which contributed to the Group's global coverage and added the strong brand name Yale.
